Xander made his way into the kitchen where he found Kyle and Kate had gotten a jump on breakfast.

“Good morning, Xander.” Kate smiled from the kitchen sink. “I would ask if Megan is up yet, but her moaning at the top of her lungs a minute ago kinda gave that away.” She winked.

“Oh yeah, she’s up.” Xander smiled.

“Yes!” Kyle chimed in.

The doorbell rang and immediately the door opened and someone came in.

“Mommy’s here!” Kyle joked. He knew it was Sam. She walked into the kitchen.

“Oh good, you’re already here, Kyle. I’m assuming she is leaving,” Sam asked, referencing Kate. “The two of you shared last night, I see.”

“Excuse me?” Kate took offense.

Kyle shot Sam a boyish grin. “Don’t mind her. She hasn’t been laid since the nineties and she likes to take it out on everyone else.”

Sam was not amused.

“No one shared anything,” Xander told her. “Megan is upstairs. Grab some coffee and let’s have a chat.”

“I already have coffee, Xander. Some of us have been up for hours. I prefer to prepare for meetings by doing research, not by drowning in whiskey and one-night stands.”

“Everyone’s different, Sam.” Kyle laughed.

Sam of course did not.

“I’ll be in the office. Let’s get started ASAP, if you don’t mind?”

“Okay, Sam. We’ll be there in just a bit,” Xander replied.

“Is that all I am to you is a one-night stand?” Kate asked Kyle, pouting her bottom lip.

“Don’t listen to her. She’s just mad cause she’s not you right now.” Kyle smiled.

Sam just rolled her eyes and left the kitchen in a huff.
