Wrapping her arms around his neck, she knocked his hat to the floor. He pulled her closer, tasting, teasing, and pleasing her with his mouth.

She reached for the buttons on his shirt while her mouth demanded him to keep his lips locked on hers. Heat ricocheted through her body, and her fingers trembled as she fumbled with his collar button. He moved his mouth to her neck trailing his lips over her throbbing vein. Her heart pulsed to the beat of her breaths as her mind raced about what they were about to do. Fear vanished as excitement took its place.

She was on the third button when he released his hold on her and placed his hand over hers. He eased back and looked into her eyes. Mischief danced in his expression.

But, instead of scooping her up and hauling her upstairs, he brought her hand to his lips, kissed the pads of her fingers, and let go. “I think I’d better leave before this gets even more out of hand.”
