Reception

As Gabby and Jack pulled into her father’s front yard to park the car, she was again awe struck at the size of the white canopy tent standing behind the house measuring thirty feet wide and forty foot in length with the center pole standing thirty feet in the air and the side poles over ten feet high.

It stood just fifteen feet from the back of Gabby’s father’s house. She had initially worried that the tent wouldn’t provide enough room to seat all the guests and still have enough room for the DJ, his equipment, and enough room reserved for dancing.

She had also worried that her father’s backyard wasn’t going to provide enough room for the construction of the monster tent and was ecstatic when two days ago the tent was unrolled and pulled upright without pushing the boundaries of her father’s property in the least.

Gabby was pleased to see that, as promised, the assembly also included the construction of a temporary but solid floor throughout, along with enough tables and chairs to seat every one of her expected guests. The tables were even numbered so that as guests arrived they could be directed to their own personal tables where family members and close friends could join them.

The same amazing company that provided the reception tent also provided the catering and ensured that all the table accoutrements were taken care of. Each table was brightly decorated with bouquets and flower arrangements made up of red and pink roses. There was also a small bag containing a wedding favor for each guest lying next to each plate on every table.

Gabby was overjoyed at how well everything had come together and was so thankful that she had let her father talk her into using the wedding services that a friend of his provided at a discounted rate. It was still very expensive, but it was well worth it. Looking around one more time, she was more than satisfied and decided it was time for her and Jack to disappear and begin letting the guests in.

Gabby let the director know it was time and snuck out of the exit leading to the back door of her father’s house. Gabby suddenly realized how relaxed she was and knew that the credit for that landed squarely on Natalie, the wedding director, who came with their package deal. I’m going to visit her after all this is over and let her know how much I appreciate everything she’s done for us. What I thought I would dread has been made a joyful experience through her expertise and direction, and I’ll never forget it.

Natalie signaled for one of her people to staff the front entrance and greet the masses while guiding them through the guest book signing. With everything in place, the canvas covering the entryway was pulled aside and people began to enter.

As the guests walked into the tent and saw the interior, many of them were taken aback and stopped to catch their breath as they took in the amazing masterpiece that had been created.
