“I got to go; someone wants to see a movie.” She smiled and started for the lobby.

I stopped her. “I will talk to you later.” I kissed her and let her get to work. I needed to get to work myself. More digging to do.

It was Saturday afternoon; I was picking Val up from work at 3:00. We had talked every night the past week, and I missed being with her. I loved talking with her. We laughed most of the time. We built a very solid foundation, something I’d never bothered doing before. I walked into the theater and saw Blake and Vikki helping patrons. Valerie was not at the counter. I waved to Blake and went to her office.
