1980

The Zelensky family moves to Erdenet, Mongolia. Young Volodymyr learns to speak Mongolian and to ride Mongolian horses.

1984

They move back to Kryvyi Rih where Volodymyr enters elementary school.

1995

Zelensky graduates from high school. He enrolls at Kryvyi Rih Economic Institute, part of Kyiv National Economic University, where he pursues the study of law and participates in campus theatre groups and productions. He becomes part of an improvisational theatre group called Kvartal 95—Quarter 95—named after the neighborhood where he grew up.
