After the fiasco at the Raven, Jojo corrected the board and headed to her next job several blocks down the Boardwalk. She wondered how she had misspelled libations, but tried to take it all in stride, especially with being late and Lou yelling at her. And the Tess situation bothered her more than she cared to admit. She entered the 19th Street Ice Cream Shop to add the specials for the week.

“How’s it going, Jojo?” Tina, the manager, stuck her head out from inside a cooler.

Jojo looked at the digital board on the wall.

“You like it?” Tina closed the door and walked toward the counter holding an ice cream container.

“Where did you get it?”

“Oh, that sweet girl, Tess that works for you.” Tina placed the ice cream in the dipping station.

Jojo’s eyebrows knitted together. “She doesn’t work for me anymore.”

“Oh really? I thought she was part of your service. She recommended that I buy the board. Can I get you something, dear?”

“No. I was going to update the weekly specials but since that’s taken care of, I’ll just head out.”

A crowd of kids burst through the front door and Tina began scooping ice cream. Jojo headed home to dress for an evening wedding gig on the beach.
