Apple Cranberry Relish Venison Burgers

Fresh apple cranberry relish adds a bit of zip to these burgers. Splurge for the good burger buns!

Serves: 6

1-1⁄2 pounds venison, ground

1 sweet onion, sliced

Apple Cranberry Relish (below)

6 bakery rolls

In skillet, cook burgers to desired doneness. Toast buns and top with cooked burgers, sliced onion and relish.

Apple Cranberry Relish

2 Cortland apples, cored

2 cups whole cranberries, quartered with seeds removed

1 orange with peel on

3⁄4 cup sugar

Grind the apples, cranberries and orange in a food chopper. Add sugar and mix well. Keep chilled until ready to use.
