Procedure

Begin in a push-up position with the hands slightly less than shoulder-width apart and the feet slightly farther apart than the hips (figure 6.2a). To maximize muscular tensions, brace the core and push into the ground with the balls of the feet and the palms. Simultaneously move one hand and the opposite foot toward each other and tap the foot with the hand (figure 6.2b). Slowly replace the hand and the foot, then repeat on the other side. Perform two or three sets of three to eight taps per side; stop if good positioning can no longer be held. The tempo of the exercise must be slow and deliberate in order to maximize endurance and technique.
