Additional Information Regarding the On-Going Homicide Investigation in the White Mountain National Forest

New Hampshire Attorney General John Freemen, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Robin Quail, and Rustington Police Chief James Evans announced additional information is available regarding the ongoing death investigation in the White Mountain National Forest, near Twin Mountain, on Friday, September 9.

The deceased, Mariam Eagan (age 27) of Boston, Massachusetts, is known to have been hiking in the White Mountain National Forest in the two days before the discovery of her body near the Zealand Falls Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) Hut. Ms Eagan is believed to have started her hike from the Lincoln Woods Visitor Centre Parking Lot off the Kancamagus Highway on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 6, her route taking her along the Lincoln Woods Trail over the summits of the Bonds and Zealand Mountain. Anyone who hiked along those trails and saw Ms Eagan or has information about the incident is asked to contact New Hampshire Police State Headquarters at (603) 223-4381. A recent photograph of Ms Eagan is attached to this release.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
