“So, what about this song we’ve been working on all afternoon?” Dusk asked. She was frowning, her eyebrows drawn together in a way that made Twilight shuffle her hooves nervously.

“And the dance?” Sunset said. “Your classmates have been working hard on this, too!”

Twilight looked over to the group of unicorns, feeling guilty. She hadn’t thought about that.

One of her classmates, Peppermint, tossed her red-and-white mane with her signature mane flip and said, “We can still do the dance and song, right? We can do both. I mean… duh?”

Twilight smiled, relieved. “Yes! Good idea, Peppermint. The dance can be performed earlier.”

“Hmph! You mean while everyone is playing games at the carnival?” Dusk asked. Twilight noticed that her buns had become slightly undone. Uh-oh.

“And eating cakes? This dance is meant to be seen!” Sunset said.

“Really, Twilight,” Dusk said angrily. “We’ve been doing this for you. We saw how upset you were, and we helped because we’re your sisters.”

“Now suddenly the plan has changed?” Sunset whined. “I mean, I had other plans for the day. You know, growing up means respecting other people’s time, Twilight.”
