Olympos valley

The Olympos valley is quite beautiful in its own right; the vast majority of visitors are content to admire the scenery, chill in the treehouses, and swim or explore the ancient site that lies between the accommodation area and the beach.

More active pursuits include hikes along the Lycian Way, south over Musa Dağı to Adrassan or north to the flames of the Chimaera and, beyond, ancient Phaselis. In addition, various agencies offer, usually through the pensions, activities such as jeep safaris, boat tours, sea kayaking, diving and rock climbing. The drawback to basing yourself in Olympos, as opposed to neighbouring Çıralı, is that you’re quite a way from the beach and have to negotiate the ancient site on each trip. In winter, moreover, the secluded valley gets much less sun than its less confined neighbour and can be pretty cold.
