The organization he created while still in office, Organizing for Action (OFA), has now become the organizing and training hub of the anti-Trump resistance, says Sperry. It’s helped stage protests all over the country against Trump’s border policies. While it describes itself as a “nonpartisan grass-roots-driven organization,” OFA is the post-Obama White House, working to continue the former president’s leftist agenda. OFA is run, in fact, by former campaign advisors and staffers from the Obama White House. The problem is not that Obama is working overtime to defend his flagging legacy but that he is using the wealth and influence of leftist agitators such as Soros and Steyer to destabilize the country.

“OFA,” Sperry says, “has formally partnered with one of the angriest resistance groups, Indivisible Project, which has been criticized for using overly aggressive protest tactics against Republicans at town-hall meetings.” Indivisible Project was behind the attacks by OFA-trained agitators who stormed Republican districts during the Fourth of July recess in the attempt to shout down “Trump’s racist policies,” as the Invincible website admits. Obama has helped OFA score between $6 million and $14 million in donations a year, Sperry reports, and is funded in part by the Democracy Alliance, which is the league of leftist power brokers supporting Soros’ Open Society Foundations.16

OFA, incidentally, is connected to radical groups that have dispatched agitators to protest outside the homes of administration officials, including Homeland Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, whose privacy was invaded in June 2018 by masked protesters blaring audiotapes of crying immigrant children and chanting, “No justice, no sleep!” throughout the night. These are not the actions of citizens in a democratic republic and not the kind of politics most Americans will appreciate.

Many who had profited from the Obama years were more than ready for that battle to begin. Among the staunch Obama backers was PBS commentator Bill Moyers, former press secretary for Lyndon Johnson and a Baptist seminary graduate, whom I met once when he was invited to speak to a group of evangelical publishers. I knew at the time he was a little left of center, but over the years he has become known for bashing conservatives and Evangelicals. Moyers was so distressed by Clinton’s loss that, along with his writer, Michael Winship, he penned a draft inaugural address for the defeated candidate to announce the unveiling of a new “shadow government” to counter and undermine the Trump presidency.

What Moyers was proposing was a radical movement drawn from the legions of angry and humiliated Obama supporters who found themselves suddenly without a country. The aim was to track every plan and proposal of the Trump administration, to raise alarms and dissent, and then to gum up the works and take direct action, as needed, to defeat the Trump agenda at every turn. Every proposal and every executive action would have to be challenged, regardless of the damage done to the country.

Leading the charge would be a core group of political insiders who know how Washington works, along with “mayors,
