Braum and Lawrence rode in silence on the way to the party. Still upset over the argument between him and Sharon, Braum considered whether Sharon had a point. He questioned the sanity of leaving a profitable and internationally known ministry.

Lawrence broke the silence, "Braum, I gotta ask you something."

"Yeah?"

"Like on some real talk," Lawrence looked over at Braum, "you ever fuck around with a dude?"

Lawrence's directness caused Braum to choke on his spit. Coughing, Braum struggled to answer, "No, of course not. I'm two things, an actor and a God-fearing heterosexual man - I'm an actor first."

"You sure?" Lawrence looked over at Braum with an intensity meant to unravel him.

With more bravado, Braum answered, "Yes!"

Lawrence shifted in the driver's seat. Braum looked over and saw a snake growing along Lawrence's thigh. Braum tried his best to conceal his surprise at what looked to be ten inches long. Rolling down the window, Braum reasserted, "Yeah, dude – one hundred percent – I'm not gay. I'm an actor."

"You've been saying that all day, but for the first time you didn't sound as confident." Braum didn't respond, but continued staring out the window. They rode in silence the remainder of the drive.
