For years, illegal aliens had poured over the border looking for a better life. When the US’s economy collapsed, the better life they were looking for was gone, and the masses stopped coming across the border. Unfortunately, the Mexican cartels didn’t stop. They still brought their drugs into the country. People would still find a way to pay for them, mostly by murdering people for any jewelry, gold, silver, or weapons that they could steal. Eventually, this source of income dried up considerably as the population of the US died off.
