Chapter 6

It was over before it even began. When Jana told Jamison to sit down and shut his mouth, he did so, but instead of sitting in the chair, he fell to the floor and a piece of the broken chair he’d been knocked out of hit him in his throat and killed him. Even had he been in a hospital setting when it happened, Tony doubted he could have been saved. He’d lost too much blood from his wolf bites before he’d been stabbed.

Jacob stood up and pulled out a gun. Thankfully, Storm was there, and she was able to turn the near disaster by having him point the gun at himself and pull the trigger.

The kids didn’t see a thing, as Jana had pulled the three of them into her body to protect them from seeing anything. There was a great deal of blood everywhere, and when Tony called his mom to come for the kids, she kept them from seeing anything by telling them to close their eyes. As soon as they were out of the room, Rain appeared, and she and Storm cleaned up the room, including the bodies. He asked her where the two of them were now.

“They’ll be found in a couple of hours. The police will call it a murder/suicide. Nothing will come out about the kids, nor what either of them had been up to over the years. Everyone is safe, and that’s all that matters.” Tony told her he agreed with her. “Good. There are a couple of things that I need to take care of now, so I’m going to pop home and take care of them. Also, there was insurance on both of them, and as the children are related to them, they will stand to inherit a good sum of money. Even after Amy gets her part of both their policies.”

“Really?” Storm shrugged and told him not to look a gift horse in the mouth. “All right. I haven’t any idea what that saying means, but I’m all right that this is over.”

Sitting in the now pristine room with Jana, he asked her if she was all right. She just turned and looked at him with a small smile. She told him that it was over, and that was all she could think about at the moment.

“I can understand that. I wish it had gone a little less gory, but I’m all right with the outcome of things. They’re both out of our lives, the children are safe, and we have a nice family.” She asked him about children of their own. “I’m ready when you are. I don’t know if you’re aware or not, but you have to be in heat. It’s called ovulating to humans. You’re not right now.”

“We have three children now. Did you want to wait a little bit or have one soon?” He told her that if it was overwhelming having four children, they could afford a nanny.
