Rehearsal would be starting in two hours and two of the five band mates were feeling very hungover. Bo and Heather came down from their room holding hands, smiling and unable to keep their hands off each other. Buzz and Jeff were sitting in the lobby of the hotel wearing sunglasses, feeling like death warmed over. Shea came off the elevator, smiling, eating an orange and wearing Sarah’s U of O basketball shorts. It had become sort of a superstition with Shea to make sure she always wore something of Sarah’s on the day of a concert.
“Hey everyone, I’m hungry let’s go get some chow before we hit rehearsal. Karen assured me this morning that the restaurant here is top notch.”
Buzz looked over the top of his sunglasses at Shea and flipped her off. Jeff just groaned and the only two who obviously had sex the night before all followed their fearless leader to get their grub on.
At the table, Jeff leaned over to Shea and asked her quietly about Callie. “So, did you have a little delivery action last night?”
“No, but she and her brother are coming to the show tonight and I put two backstage passes aside for them at the will call window.”
He was surprised that she actually came back to the hotel alone and that Callie didn’t show up later. “God Lil’ Bit you have some major will power. I would have been happy to bring that little vixen home last night. I mean holy shit she was hotter than a lit firecracker.”
She would have expected that statement to come out of Buzz’s mouth, but not Jeff’s. “First of all, who are you and what have you done with my nice friend Jeff? What the hell Jeff? One night stands are not my thing and it’s too soon, and we have too much riding on this tour and our album for me to jeopardize everything we have worked so hard for, so let it go? Besides, I rode back to the hotel with you last night remember?”
He sat up straight, feeling like he had just been scolded by his mom and put his hand up. “Sorry Shea, you’re right, that was very distasteful and crude. I think I’ve been hanging out with Buzz too much lately.” He kissed her on the cheek and then started looking through the menu.
Buzz was very quiet and only ordered coffee and orange juice with a side of aspirin. Vance joined the band in the restaurant and gave them the schedule for the day.
Two limousines took the band to the Rose Garden and they all paused to look out at the Willamette River and the beautiful city. Vance ushered the band inside and as they were coming down the ramp to the stage, they could hear the sound check going on. They looked out at the big arena and the bright lights, got their instruments and started to warm up. They had a good rehearsal and then were off to do some PR stuff.
