Chapter Fifteen

The pizza was cold when they finally had the energy to haul themselves out of her bed and make their way into the kitchen.

Alena had reached for her nighty, but Ivan grasped her wrist to stop her. “It’s lovely. But naked is better.”

She giggled as she followed him toward the kitchen.

He stopped at the guest bathroom to remove the condom while she waited in the doorway, watching. Loving every move he made, even the removal of a condom.

He was still chuckling and shaking his head as he slid a slice of cold pizza toward her. “That was the first time I’ve had sex in months. I shot off too fast. I could do it again right now.” He winked at her as he took a bite. “But I won’t,” he added around the pizza, “because you’re gonna be sore.”

She sat up straighter. She didn’t feel sore, and she sure didn’t want him to coddle her. Her body was alive. Awakened. Ready to go again.

“I’m not sore.”

“Sure. Uh-huh. Right.” He took another drink of the beer and set it between them.

“Ivan, don’t tell me how I feel,” she admonished.

He swallowed another bite and met her gaze, hesitating.
