By noon, Grace was cursing her parents for deciding to gift her the land she was traipsing around, years ago, instead of waiting until they were decorously dead.

Growing up here, she knew the land was vast and varied but now, looking at it through adult eyes, it was also filled with endless possibilities—all of which required endless decisions. Should she sell to developers or hold onto the potentially lucrative mineral and gas rights? Should she worry about the highway pushing out here or suburban sprawl edging up to her property boundaries? If she chose to work it herself, would she earn more ranching like Josh or farming like Drake? If she sold it, should she take into consideration what Josh and Drake were doing on their land?

The funny thing was, she didn’t have to sell the property. That wasn’t why she was up here at all. The only thing she had to do was value it for the purposes of putting a figure down on the contract she and Adam would sign when they moved in together. Knowing the value would mean they would know how much each was entitled to take of the relationship if they broke up—although the very act of entering into a contract suggested it was more like when they broke up. It was actually if they moved in together.

Two days ago, there’d been no if about it.

There was no hiding it. The ‘if’ was Josh and Drake. The ‘if’ was fantastic sex, had severally, to use a legal term.

Could they change that ‘several’ status into ‘joint and several’?

It didn’t seem possible that two strong personalities like Josh and Drake could manage to compromise on anything so life altering.

But Drake’s proposal had been clear enough, and when she called Josh later that morning, he’d confirmed it.

The Walker feud was definitely over.

Was it enough of a foundation on which to base the rest of her life?
