Chapter 11

She looked into Aidens eyes now that their eyes were almost level and just like before. She saw herself before she came into this world. The weak, timid, scared girl she truly is deep down. She closed her eyes and pushed that part of her aside.

She opened her eyes again she looked at her friends with determination. “Let’s go,” she said with confidence, she walked past Aiden and into the trees again.

Ted grabbed his bag, gave Aiden a pat on the nose in goodbye then ran to catch up with Altalune. “You certainly are confident.”

“I have to be. If I doubt myself, we’ll get nowhere,” Altalune said not looking at him.

“Well it looks good on you.” Ted smiled. “I’m glad you’re taking the lead on this. Just don’t go all emotionless on us.”

Altalune giggled a little. “I won’t. I promise.”

“So how do you know where we’re going?” Nick asked.

“It’s hard to explain. It’s this spring with a little hill in the middle and a white flower on top. It glows but it also looks like it’s dying,” Altalune explained

“Why would we need to go there?” Ted asked.

“I have no idea but we’ll find out when we get there,” Altalune said as they continued to walk. “How much sap did we get?”

“About three vials,” Rozlyn said.

“That isn’t much.”

“Yeah, but it should be fine for the potion.”

Altalune nodded in response then they walked in silence after that. Well mostly in silence. After about an hour Eleanor just wouldn’t stop complaining, eventually she had Nick carrying her bag of useless items and Ted carrying her on his back.

“Ted, can we stop so we can cool off? It’s soooo hot,” Elenore whined.

Altalune clenched her hands into fists. Her patience towards the bratty wanna be princess is running low. “Will you just shut up! We’ll take a break when we’re all tired.”

“But it’s hot and my feet hurt!” Eleanor snapped.

Altalune stopped and turned so suddenly Ted stumbled back to avoid bumping into her. “Well maybe if you didn’t wear heels!” she said, yanking them from Eleanor’s feet. “To go on a mission! Maybe your feet wouldn’t hurt so bad!”

“You better be careful with those they cost more than your whole outfit!” Eleanor snapped.

“Is it?” Altalune broke the heels off both shoes.

Eleanor screeched and squirmed. “How dare you! Those were a present from a prince!!”

“Yeah, a prince that wasn’t me! Now stop squirming before I drop you!” Ted snaps. Eleanor fell silent. “Did you really have to do that?” Ted asked.

“Yes,” Altalune said firmly. “She needs to realize the world doesn’t revolve around her and not everyone is willing to put up with her stupidity.” She dropped the shoes to the ground.

“How dare you say that! Do you have any idea who I am!? I can have your whole family stripped of their statice and thrown onto the streets like the filthy peasant you are!” Eleanor yells.

“Alright that’s it,” Ted said, his tone both annoyed and angry as he set Eleanor on her feet. “I
