Chapter 11
She looked into Aidens eyes now that their eyes were almost level and just like before. She saw herself before she came into this world. The weak, timid, scared girl she truly is deep down. She closed her eyes and pushed that part of her aside.
She opened her eyes again she looked at her friends with determination. âLetâs go,â she said with confidence, she walked past Aiden and into the trees again.
Ted grabbed his bag, gave Aiden a pat on the nose in goodbye then ran to catch up with Altalune. âYou certainly are confident.â
âI have to be. If I doubt myself, weâll get nowhere,â Altalune said not looking at him.
âWell it looks good on you.â Ted smiled. âIâm glad youâre taking the lead on this. Just donât go all emotionless on us.â
Altalune giggled a little. âI wonât. I promise.â
âSo how do you know where weâre going?â Nick asked.
âItâs hard to explain. Itâs this spring with a little hill in the middle and a white flower on top. It glows but it also looks like itâs dying,â Altalune explained
âWhy would we need to go there?â Ted asked.
âI have no idea but weâll find out when we get there,â Altalune said as they continued to walk. âHow much sap did we get?â
âAbout three vials,â Rozlyn said.
âThat isnât much.â
âYeah, but it should be fine for the potion.â
Altalune nodded in response then they walked in silence after that. Well mostly in silence. After about an hour Eleanor just wouldnât stop complaining, eventually she had Nick carrying her bag of useless items and Ted carrying her on his back.
âTed, can we stop so we can cool off? Itâs soooo hot,â Elenore whined.
Altalune clenched her hands into fists. Her patience towards the bratty wanna be princess is running low. âWill you just shut up! Weâll take a break when weâre all tired.â
âBut itâs hot and my feet hurt!â Eleanor snapped.
Altalune stopped and turned so suddenly Ted stumbled back to avoid bumping into her. âWell maybe if you didnât wear heels!â she said, yanking them from Eleanorâs feet. âTo go on a mission! Maybe your feet wouldnât hurt so bad!â
âYou better be careful with those they cost more than your whole outfit!â Eleanor snapped.
âIs it?â Altalune broke the heels off both shoes.
Eleanor screeched and squirmed. âHow dare you! Those were a present from a prince!!â
âYeah, a prince that wasnât me! Now stop squirming before I drop you!â Ted snaps. Eleanor fell silent. âDid you really have to do that?â Ted asked.
âYes,â Altalune said firmly. âShe needs to realize the world doesnât revolve around her and not everyone is willing to put up with her stupidity.â She dropped the shoes to the ground.
âHow dare you say that! Do you have any idea who I am!? I can have your whole family stripped of their statice and thrown onto the streets like the filthy peasant you are!â Eleanor yells.
âAlright thatâs it,â Ted said, his tone both annoyed and angry as he set Eleanor on her feet. âI
