How Colt sees me is down to him, and I’m not sticking my oar in that creek. As for dying, well, that’s closer than he’ll have me believe.

He and Lucius have plans for me they’re not willing to share—my heart ceasing beating is part of those plans.

I get the feeling the decision has been made, whether or not I’m on board with it. I’ll be honest, if that’s the way of it, I don’t want to know when they’ve scheduled my demise—not the day, not the time, not anything. Seriously. I know it sounds ridiculous and I’m probably not going to make a dent in my bucket list, but I don’t want to see it coming. Still, there are two stipulations I need to discuss with my randy lover when it comes to my death, and neither is negotiable.

One: the only vampire snuffing my mortality out like a candle is Colt. Lucius may be royalty when it comes to vampires, but he scares the ever-lovin’ shit out of me, and I don’t want to be afraid when I die. Death’s scary enough without adding his lordship into the mix. Colt is my executioner, no exceptions.

Two: they don’t tell me when it’s going to happen. I don’t want a hint, I don’t want subtle little clues. Sympathetic, pitying glances? Don’t want ‘em, don’t need ‘em. Colt can fuck me into oblivion and drink me dry, that’s fine by me. Wait until I’m asleep and siphon my blood from a vein until I fade away, that’ll suit me just dandy. Painless, quick, and clean is all I ask.
