unofficial TIP

The best time to visit the AquaDuck is between 5 and 7 p.m., when most families are either at dinner or getting ready to go. You’ll also find smaller crowds on days when the ship is in port.

Both the Dream and the Fantasy have an AquaDuck waterslide, a 765-foot-long clear-plastic tube that’s almost as popular as the Disney princesses. Riders board an inflatable plastic raft at the aft end of Deck 12. The raft is shot forward through the plastic tube by high-pressure water faucets below and to the sides, making the AquaDuck a water-powered miniature roller coaster. There’s enough water pressure here to propel your raft up two full decks’ worth of height, followed by a descent of four decks into a landing pool. Guests must be at least 42 inches tall to ride, and children under age 7 must ride with someone age 14 or older who also meets the height requirement.

The AquaDuck’s track sits at the outside edge of Deck 12 and goes as high as one of the ship’s smokestacks. If you can keep your eyes open (and your wits about you), it offers some awesome views of the surrounding ocean and any nearby islands.

In late 2015, the Dream saw the addition of the Satellite Falls pool, which had previously been only on the Fantasy. Satellite Falls is an adults-only splash pool and sun deck that’s a terrific place to relax with a drink in the evening.
