âHappiness is not a goal⦠it is a by-product of a life well lived.â
â Eleanor Roosevelt
The current economic climate tells us something is coming down the pike, too many top economists are telling us there is no way things can continue as they are. Teknomix may well be the prototype of the next economic social system to rise from the ashes of capitalism like a âmetaphorical phoenixâ and save the world from itself, but it would be naïve to think there wouldnât be some kind of backlash or even ferocious resistance if it did happen. For the proponents of free-market economics, they would be dumbfounded; it will be perceived worse than cutting off their oxygen supply; and for the ruling elite and the monied classes, there would be a deafening cry of abhorrence heard around the world. The well-off will use every law in the books and fight to their last breath to hang on to their fortunes, and who in the world could blame anyone who risks to lose all of their property and possessions and cash just so everyone else can live a good life too? There will be thundering calls in governments across the world to legislate âitâ out of existence. But I see this as par for the course, one canât expect making visionaries out of everyone with a new theory on how to run the economy.
The worldâs Machiavellian leaders bent on authoritative practices wonât idly stand by to see their generational wealth and ill-gotten gains go up in smoke eitherâunless of course thereâs something even better in it for themselves. The very thought of putting into place an economic operating system that enriches people from the top to the bottom of society is in strict opposition to the underpinnings of the capitalist credo. Resistance fighters on both sides of the economic fence have a right to express themselves. We should welcome public debate, because it serves to bring out the best in everyoneâs arguments and it allows the general public to see for themselves the pros and cons of what may be the next form of economic operating system they will be obliged to live under.
When will we stop playing the capitalist game? It will be happening in our lifetime or in the next generation or the nextâmuch as it has always been in society when the doors of perception open for those precious instances in the collective consciousness and humanity digs down deep in its innate wisdom and finds the way out of the dilemma itâs inâ¦
Teknomix will be the exact reverse of the capitalist model on several important points. Whereas capitalismâs need for increasing profits is dependent on infinite growth, teknomix is not chained to unsustainable increases in production for the sole goal of augmenting a profit margin. It will trim down the unnecessary use of natural resources for the private sector by relinquishing the use of natural materials like mahogany in private luxury. Instead of using limited natural resources for individual homes, for example, they will be allocated exclusively for public luxury.
