“The Ransom of Red Chief” is all about my life just like the victim in this story I am an only child I am the only child of Jennifer Moriarty and a one-night stand good old dad is a fucked-up blond guy she hooked up with at a bar in Key West seventeen years ago. My mother’s husband Jim is a “prominent citizen” just like Ebenezer Dorset, the victim’s father in the story and Jim knows I’m not his son it’s obvious. Not just because I don’t look like Jim but also because I’m a “sick son of a bitch” who has ruined his life and his real son’s life and if someone kidnapped me Jennifer and Jim would refuse to fork over $2,000, like in the story. I’m not worth it.
