The next morning came sooner than expected.
After weâd finished I thought maybe Heather and Sindee might come up to spend the night with me in my bed. But then I realized they probably had to get up early and get on the road, for they had quite a long trip in front of them.
Heather and Sindee agreed and it wasnât long before all five of the girls were sleeping soundly on my living room floor, each tucked into their own sleeping bag, hands wrapped around their poofy pillows.
I retreated to my bedroom where I lay wide awake, my mind replaying the nightâs events over and over. But at some point I mustâve drifted off because I opened my eyes to find the alarm clock displaying nine oâclock.
Holy shit! Donât tell me I slept in and missed the girls leaving! At the very least I wanted the chance to say a proper goodbye, and maybe get in one more grope and kiss for good measure.
I threw off the sheet and bolted down the stairs. When I got to the bottom I suddenly stopped. They were still sound asleep on the floor! Damn it, I shouldâve gotten them up earlier. Now theyâd have a hell of time getting down to their hotel before the day was through.
I crept over to the couch and found Heather and Sindee sleeping beside one another. I leaned over and tried to get their attention.
âPsst. Hey, Heather. Sindee. Wake up.â
Nothing.
A few tries more and I finally disturbed their slumber.
âSorry to wake you, but itâs past nine.â
They rubbed their eyes as the news sunk in, although it didnât seem to make them go any faster. In fact, they each let out a yawn and appeared ready to fall back asleep!
âDidnât you hear me,â I said again, this time a little louder, not really caring if I woke the others.
They glanced at each other, then at me, then back at each other. It was as if they were trying to figure out who was going to tell me something.
I shook my head and chuckled. âOkay, you two, spill it. I canât wait to hear whatâs up your sleeve this time.â
Sindee looked up at me, her eyes glimmering through glossy strands of disheveled hair. âMr. G., to be honest, we werenât really planning on going anywhere todayâ¦â
ââ¦Or the next,â Heather added.
âOr the day after thatâ¦â Sindee continued.
I held up my hand. âI get the point, but what about all of your Spring Break plans? The beach, the ocean, the cute college guys. Those wet tee shirt contests?â
They exchanged guilty looks.
Heather blushed. âWell, you see, we werenât planning on doing any of those things.â
âTruth is, we canât afford a trip down to Florida,â Sindee said.
âAnd the prospect of staying on campus wasnât exactly thrilling sooo, we kinda came up with the idea of spending Spring Break here with you.â
I hung on their every word, processing the incoming information. âSo let me get this straight. You showed up here with three of
