Perfect.

Like the beach, ocean, sunlight right now on a Saturday afternoon.

That burning sand that was too hot to touch. This room in this B&B that they had for only one night. But Nate would be back any minute.

Two nights? Since he found out the party for Dominic was not until 5:00 in the evening tomorrow? Surely Nate could get the extra night for them. Especially if he could negotiate with a woman. Women adored Nate.

Alec flopped longways across the creaking bed, no effort to pack, smiling at the ceiling as he thought again of his first ever stay with Nate in a B&B. Maybe they could renew their vows for the 10th anniversary and do it again?

The old lock clicked, the door opened. Nate stepped in and closed it behind him.

“Is something wrong?”

Alec glanced at him. “What?”

“You look like the Vitruvian Man. And don’t say, ‘The what?’”

Alec chuckled. “I know Leonardo. Just because I don’t read many novels doesn’t mean I don’t take in culture.” He smiled as he gazed up at Nate, upside down as he came to stand over him. “I’m fine. Just relaxing. And being dramatic.”

Nate returned his smile and Alec was sure he was right. They weren’t going home tonight.

“What would you do if you ever had to give up acting?” Nate asked, kneeling down by Alec’s head at the edge of the bed.

“I always thought I’d make a great fluffer,” Alec said.

Nate laughed, kissed Alec upside down, lifting his hands to each side of Alec’s head. “You are absolutely right.”

“You don’t say that to me very often.”

“Because you don’t deserve it very often.” Nate kissed him again.

Alec reached up and back to press his fingers through Nate’s hair. “What’s on the schedule?”

“Dinner in town. Anything you want. Breakfast downstairs between 7:00 and 9:00, then out of here to get home. Besides that, all up to you.”

“I’m so glad you said that.” Alec grinned.

Nate cocked his head. “Plans? Want to take your clothes off?”

“I thought you’d never ask.” Alec pulled him down for another kiss.
