Chapter 7

Julia finds her new girlfriend waiting at the café they picked out. “Hi, Tina!”

“Hey, Jules, I got the spot.”

“I know, this is perfect.”

The café is street side on a corner – hot-bodied guys strolling around everywhere. Tina rolls her eyes from checking one out. “Oh my god!” she mouths the words.

They order coffees and Julia gets a slice of carrot cake. Chat about holidaying at the lake and what’s to do around town soon turns to the bar the previous night.

“So, how was Anthony?” Tina asks. “He’s cute, isn’t he?”

“Yup. Thanks for letting me borrow him.”

“Ha ha – he’s all yours if you want him. There’s plenty more where he came from,” Tina says, lowering her sunglasses to follow the butt of another ripped, muscular guy strolling past. The girls share the same taste in eye candy.

“And did you make it home to your own bed?” Julia asks.

“Um – eventually. It’s the one rule with my husband – no sleepovers.”

“Oh. Actually that makes sense.”

“I know. It’s the same for him, now that he’s started whoring around too.” Tina shrugs. I’m actually thinking we’re about done, to be honest.

“Done with swinging?”

“Nope – done with being together – with our marriage, or what’s left of it.”

“Oh no – really?”

“Well, that’s where this often leads, Jules. Don’t kid yourself it’s harmless fun.” Tina stirs her coffee and sucks her spoon. “Whose idea was it with you guys? Was it yours?”

Julia thinks about that. “Not really. Rodney sent me these stories to read, and I’d never even thought of playing around like this before that.”

“Oh, well that’s something. It was all my idea with us, and my husband was excited at first but I feel his resentment building now.”

“And how do you feel about him seeing other women?” Julia asks curiously.

“I don’t really care – which pretty much says it all.” Tina frowns in thought for a moment. “I think it would be hard if you were truly in love with your man – sharing him. It might be different for men.”

“For them sharing us?”

“Yeah, at first it was how much he enjoyed watching me all sexy and wanton with these other guys – like it was purely physical and visual for him.” Tina pauses and frowns again. “Which – come to think of it – I kind of screwed up by seeing other guys on my own.”

“There’s no way I’d do that,” Julia declares. “I’ve already thought that through, and I’m not doing anything Rodney isn’t involved in somehow. I kind of did at first but I’ve told Rodney all about that, and now, even with last night he drove us and picked me up. Plus, he was spying all night from the car.”

“What? Tina’s face lights up. “He was spying?”

Julia shares a giggle. ”I know. He said he couldn’t help himself and had to try and watch.”

“Oh, that’s so cute!” Tina sings. “And how about afterwards – was he okay with it? Did he see much?”

“He saw Anthony dancing with me and kissing me and that.
