The way Ford watched me should have been unnerving, like he was trying to see inside my soul, searching out my darkest secrets. Instead, I was entranced by him. I wanted to spill all the dirty details of my past if only he would be the one to save me.

But I knew that wasn’t possible. No one could save me. What’s done was done, and I had to find a way to move on, and how I’d chosen to do that for the past decade wasn’t working for me any longer.

“Cara?” Ford’s voice interrupted my wayward thoughts, sounding deeper, raspier. Only when he saw he had my full attention did he cover my body with his, licking at my lips, but pulling back before I could kiss him properly.

Before I could demand he kiss me once more, he rubbed the head of his cock over my clit, all the while observing me. Whenever I’d had sex with someone, I barely made eye contact. “I won’t hurt you.” My gut told me that his words had a double meaning. Seconds later, Ford pushed inside me, stretching me, slowing as I took a deep breath. “Are you okay?”

“Yes.” Wrapping my legs around the back of his thighs, I urged him to go deeper, and thankfully he didn’t stop until we were fully connected.

A moment passed before he started to move, rotating his hips then thrusting forward, latching on to my mouth when his speed increased. Then, unexpectedly, he slowed down.

“Faster,” I groaned, pressing my heels into his thighs.

“I can’t.”

“Faster,” I repeated, closing my eyes and grabbing his hips to try and move him. But the man was a mountain and no amount of feeble attempt on my part would change his mind.
