Chet sighed and hung up the phone, shaking his head as he tried to shake off the images in his mind. Trinity clearly had no idea how easy it was to stimulate him sexually. Why else would she keep offering suggestive comments while they were talking? Everyone knew guys thought about sex every few minutes. Didn't they?

Or maybe he wasn't normal, because for him it was more like every ten seconds.

He stirred uncomfortably and tried to shift his focus back to his writing. He'd left off at a very pivotal point in the story and wanted to pick up where he'd left off before he went to bed last night. Now if he could just remember some of the details of the dream that followed.

Chas had just finished asking Christina how much it would cost to free her from her sexual bondage to the house of ill repute where she worked.

She'd answered, "More than you'll ever have."

Chet was quickly returning to the creative zone where stories evolved and grew until his fingers flew over the keyboard and pounded out the details.

Chas stared at the gorgeous half-breed's woeful gaze and determined to help her. The sad look in Christina's eyes made Chas grieve deep in his soul. He wanted her to experience life the way God intended. And selling her body wasn't part of that plan.

"You're worth it," he whispered.

She tilted her head as she studied him, her mouth gaping. "Are... are you serious?"

Touching her chin, he fixed his eyes intently on hers. "Have you heard the story of the shepherd who had ninety-nine obedient sheep, but left them all to find the one who strayed?"

She slowly shook her head.

"You're more precious to the Lord than the ninety-nine women who attend church on Sunday and live their lives in an honorable way. Do you believe that, Christina?"

She blinked as if she couldn't fathom such a thing.

"Do you believe that, darlin'?"

Glancing away, she sighed. "That's just a nice story. It's not real life."

"Oh, but it is. I would do that for you." Guiding her chin again so she had to meet his gaze, he asked, "Do you believe me?"

Her eyes lost their focus. "But why would you want to? I've been a whore since I was twelve. I don't know anything else."

Pulling her to him, he wept as he held her gently and said into her hair, "You're precious and beautiful. Not something to be used. I would give everything I have to redeem you."

She trembled in his arms. Her shoulders shook, like she was crying from deep within her soul. He wanted to kiss her, to reassure her that she'd be all right, but didn't want to disturb the powerful moment, and the sense that God was in their midst. His spirit soared higher as he realized with every passing moment that she truly believed him. She wanted to trust him to save her from the miserable clutches of a life filled with sin.

"Yes. Take me with you," she cried as she clung to him.
