Sitting alone on the back of a yacht wasn’t high at my list of things I wanted to experience in life, but here I am, wrapping a spare blanket around myself as I stare at the darkening sky instead of hyper fixating on the fact that if I fell overboard, nobody would know!

I’m an excellent swimmer, but I somehow doubt I’ll stay afloat long enough to be rescued at this point.

Luckily for me, Evelyn pops out of the cabin. She moves her hair out of her face and steadies herself on the deck before sitting next to me once more.

To be honest, she could have kept standing there in front of the door looking like my favorite dessert. While her friend Raquel is rocking the bathing suit and robe look, there’s something about Evelyn’s effortless style that always punches me in the chest. Or is it between the legs? Whenever I look at her on nights like these, I imagine it’s both. The ol’ one-two: one in the heart, one in the pussy.

“How are you friends?” I’m proud of myself for not stuttering a single word in that sentence because Evelyn has stolen most of my vocabulary away. “You’d think they’d want to be out here enjoying this beautiful night with us.”

Evelyn wraps her arm around the back of the sofa, one of the wine-colored pillows digging into her dress. While she stares up at the starry sky with me, she says, “To be frank, they’re hanky-pankying in the bedroom. I think I must have interrupted something. You know how it is.” A wicked smile flashes in my direction. “Young love.”

“Oh… oh!” Am I scandalized? Maybe. This is, after all, Raquel and Lisa’s yacht, and if they wanna have a quickie in the bedroom to take the edge off, who am I to say they can’t do that on their own property? Still, it’s not something I would do if I were entertaining guests. At the same time, I’m relieved to know that I get to spend some more alone time with my date. Evelyn may not be my “girlfriend,” but being around her friends and none of mine was making me anxious. I try not to be that way. Socially anxious, that is, but I can’t help it when it happens. I’m grateful that more strangers didn’t come to this party out on the water.

“The thing you have to understand about my friends,” Evelyn begins, “is that Raquel was the queen cougar in this town for a long while. Before she settled down with Lisa, who has completely consumed her soul these past three years. Hmph. Guess it’s sweet that they’re still so obsessed with each other. Anyway, I’m rather surprised you haven’t met Raquel before, let alone slept with her. There wasn’t a young gay pussy in this town that slipped under her radar. You would have been the perfect age for her.”

I hide my embarrassment within the depths of the blanket curled around my body. “I swear I’ve never met her before tonight.
