Lex was still a little bit angry. Even after everything Troy had said, he couldn't deny that one simple truth. It wasn't fair or right, necessarily, but there was no denying that he still hadn't entirely forgiven Troy.
By the same token, the chances were low that Troy would have any way of knowing that the worst possible thing he could say to Lex was that slut implication because at one time in Lex's past, Troy would have been right, but that had been years ago. Close to an entire decade. Which wasn't to say that Lex hadn't availed himself of what was on offer at the clubs more recently, but not to the degree he once had. Lex could honestly only think of seven instances in the last year, and even those had involved hands, rather than other, more intimate body parts. And maybe Troy wasn't the only one dealing with past issues because Lex was reasonably sure that he should have shoved the memory of those long-gone times to the back of his head, where they wouldn't be able to hurt him anymore.
Kissing Troy, even while still being mad, was helping, however. Helping far more than Lex ever would have thought before actually doing it. The fact that Troy wasn't trying to move things along was starting to piss him off, though, and the last thing Lex wanted or needed was to get all riled up again.
"Make up sex doesn't generally work unless there's actual sex involved," Lex announced during a brief moment when his mouth wasn't eating at Troy's. "I thought that might be where this was going, but if not, just say so."
Troy went still. Just for a moment or three, but it was enough to have Lex wondering whether he'd misjudged what was actually going on. Then Troy laughed, a sort of breathless sound that Lex had never heard from him before, and Troy's head dropped, resting on Lex's shoulder. It felt good there, Lex realized. Felt right in some indefinable way.
"Dear Lord. Thank you for that," Troy mumbled. Lex couldn't say whether it was because Troy was relieved or due to the way that sweet mouth was right up against the crook of his neck. "I wasn't sure where we were so I didn't want to push, but make up sex sounds just about perfect. If nothing else, maybe we can work off the rest of that ire."
It should have surprised him that Troy seemed so in tune with his feelings, but Lex found that it didn't. Then again, he and Troy had come together so quickly, maybe the lack of surprise should be the surprising thing.
"It might take a while," Lex murmured back, his cheek pressing against the side of Troy's head while his hands stroked firmly up and down as much of Troy's back as he could reach. "I'm still pretty mad, in case you missed it."
Troy sighed softly, but Lex felt those soft but firm lips curve into a smile against his skin.
