INGREDIENTS
8 oz Universal Spirit
1 cup diced and muddled ripe cantaloupe or honeydew
24 oz water
2 cups sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine Universal Spirit and melon in an airtight container and infuse in a cool, dark space for up to 1 week. Strain ingredients through cheesecloth and press melon to remove all excess liquid. Dilute remaining liquid with water before adding sugar and transferring to a clean container.
ST. GERMAIN
ST. GERMAIN IS AN elderflower liqueur considered by many to be a modern classic, introduced in 2007. Its delicate, sweet, floral flavor complements most white spirits, and can also be mixed with dry and/or sparkling wines in apértif-style drinks. Use in The Virgin (p 119).
