Asian foods

Most of us encounter Asian foods at our local corner restaurant. The food is usually cooked according to the whim of the owner and the nutrition content is not measured or published. This makes it almost impossible to provide guidance on what to eat in the same way that I have elsewhere, but I’ll give it a go.

Brown sugar or palm sugar is often a primary ingredient in Thai and Chinese sauces and an important component in others, and seed oils are a primary ingredient in commercial curry pastes. Since sauces and pastes tend to be the essence of much Asian food, this can be a problem. If you’re eating out, these guidelines will help.
