The Transference of Wealth

For all we have and are,

For all our children's fate,

Stand up and take the war.

The Hun is at the gate!

RUDYARD KIPLING, 1865-1936

Some nations increase, others diminish, and in a short space the generations of living creatures are changed.

Lucretius, 99-55 b.c.

Once we are praying strategically and with power and our prayers are properly linked from the head (Jesus) to vision-driven apostolic leadership on Earth, we will begin to see a tremendous increase in the harvest. God is pouring out upon His people a mind for increasing His kingdom. We, therefore, need to allow Him to give us this mind and desire for building.

When Nehemiah set about rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem, he said the people had a mind to work (see Neh. 4:6). The people had a mind to build the thing that God wanted built. We need to have this same mind-set. If our minds are not connected to the mind of Christ, if we do not desire to build His house on Earth, that which He wants to accomplish in our generation will not come to fruition.

Building with a Mind for Increase

If we are to tap into God's mind for building, we must have a biblical understanding of increase. When we look at the concept of increase in the Word of God, we see that it is often linked with government. Isaiah 9:7 says, "Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end."

Increase is a harvest principle. The Hebrew word for building, banah, signifies the adding of sons and daughters so that the plan of God can be passed from one generation to another.

Increase rises through faith and follows effort and deeds linked with faith. Increase also comes through connecting with one another. When we are linked together, when we eschew independence, we gain strength in multiplied corporate measure.

Increase is also a reward for obedience. There is joy in obedience (see Col. 1:9-11), and the joy of the Lord causes our strength to increase (see Neh. 8:10). With such strength we are capable of building according to God's strategic plan for the future.

In the book of Matthew we find Jesus' plan for building His Church. In Matthew 16:13, He asks His disciples what the people are saying about Him. They tell Him that some think of Him as a powerful prophet, while others think He is Elijah returned. Jesus asks, "But who do you say that I am?" (v. 15). Peter replies; "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (v. 16). What a revelation!

Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matt.
