Chapter 25

The left Orc started off with a roar as the right one yelled “Fresh meat!”

All three charged at me. Their movements were half the speed of mine, Reflex was paying off heavily right now. I started the fight off by throwing both knives immediately.

After four throwing knives, only one hit the right Orc in the shoulder. Only just now starting to drain him. I am still terrible with these things, and time is not something I have in abundance right now to learn the ins and outs of them.

After throwing six knives, I grabbed my combat knife and started the process to turn it into the machete. Rushing them as it changed, the monsters tried swinging at me but missed completely. My machete sliced through their bodies with little resistance.

After killing the monsters, I stashed them and examined the doorway. There were five knives sunk into the wall. Recalling all the throwing knives turned wood carving blades, for all the good they were in my hands. The church's door, walls and benches had taken more damage than the monsters had. Showing me how desperately I needed some proper training. While having done enough damage to the church, it seemed the best idea to get out as quickly as possible.

The monsters were working their way up the street to me. While they hadn’t seen me yet, the large Orc was blocking their view. And there was no way I was going to give the monsters a free meal if it was in my power. Stashing the large Orc with a light tap of my foot he started disappearing. A loud crash in the distance reminded me the large horned monster was still very much alive. It seemed to be on a rampage to completely destroy the city. With the monsters in front of me still moving in slow motion, I took advantage of the situation, working to clear the street of any in sight.

After killing about a dozen more monsters with my throwing knives and machete, my accuracy wasn’t as terrible now. Getting into the habit of recalling some of the knives when I missed, gave me the chance to have a never ending stream of blades flying through the air. With the sounds of battle nearby, I just couldn’t walk away now. The horned monster let out a roar, echoing through the City, I wasn’t going just going to stand idly by. I had to give chase.

jogging down one of the alleyways towards the noise. It ended up on the next street that was filled with monsters. There was a group of thirty monsters in the area raiding the buildings with some crouched behind a carriage eating something. Whatever they were doing, it wasn’t good.

Slowly getting closer, none of them noticed me, hopefully I can use surprise to my advantage. Moving closer as quietly as my creaky boots would allow, I was able to get a good view of an Orc from behind eating something. As I moved closer, I was able to get a better look at what he was eating.
