Calig’s Journal – Active & Passive Waves, Energy Restoration

Previously explained: Waves sent by your soul along the threads will slowly get shorter until they reach a specific height. Upon reaching this specific height, the wave will free a fiber from the thread.

New information: Waves do not disappear after freeing a fiber. They continue down the thread, but are too short to free a fiber.

Waves taller than the specific height are called ‘active’ waves, and waves shorter than the specific height are called ‘passive’ waves.

Passive waves continue down the threads for a long time, losing energy very slowly, and do not interfere with any other waves. When a passive wave runs into a soul vein, that vein can absorb its energy. After you gather enough energy from passive waves, you can create more active waves, and the cycle continues.

There is, for all intents and purposes, an endless supply of passive waves coursing along the threads at all times. Think of a tree with sunlight: a tree has countless leaves to absorb the sun’s energy, but the amount of sunlight flooding the earth is far more than the tree could ever harness. Furthermore, the leaves can only harness a portion of the sunlight that hits them. After a certain point, shining more sunlight on a leaf does not give it more energy.

The same is true for your soul—it has countless soul veins, your leaves, grabbing the threads that pass through you to harness the endless passive waves, the sunlight, that flows across. Even so, they can only harness a fraction of this energy. Thus, you always receive energy as fast as your soul is capable. You never have to worry about the threads running out of energy, or becoming so powerful that they cannot fuel you as fast as you can handle.

Your soul, if completely depleted, takes about a day to fully recover. Of course, it slowly recovers during this time, so after half a day, you will have half your energy back. Also, resting can decrease recovery time—a good night’s sleep is usually enough to completely restore an exhausted soul.
