There hadn't been any other farm houses out towards ours when my father's story took place, but this is no longer the case, and I've walked the road home safely even when the moon was half-full. I wasn't worried when I passed beneath the shadows of some trees, the path becoming more obscure in the darkness.
I still wasn't worried when I saw lights ahead, figuring it was just our neighbors' house. As I grew closer, the lights multiplied and spread out, until I was standing at the foot of a castle, its delicate spires outlined in the faint moonlight. The path had led right to its gate, and now I stared up at it in wonder.
