The good news is, Lucifer somehow managed to get Del hired for the position of combat instructor, so at least I won't get in trouble for being late. Hopefully.

When I walk into combat, I see the entire class running laps around the gym, Del dead center. I watch him as I walk up, ready to hand over my tardy slip. He's watching Kora very closely. Interesting.

My new friend trips over her own feet, face planting. While the students around her laugh, her twin doubles back to check on her. Only, Del makes it there first.

He gently lifts her so she's back on her feet, assessing the damage to her knees. Kora's cheeks flame bright red under his attention.

She says something, pushing his hand away. I'm too far away to hear, but Del stands up, staring down at her.

"Be more careful." I hear him tell her as I approach.

I've been hurt many times while training with Del, and the most I've ever gotten was him walking out.

He turns away from Kora and I'm right there, looking up at the giant lug of a Demon with a smirk on my face.

"You know it's against the rules to lust after a student?" I say teasingly.

He glares at me in response.

"Oh come on! I saw that! When I fall you literally ignore me! You have a crush." I say wiggling my eyebrows at him.

"You’re late. That's five extra laps for you." He says as he walks away, not bothering to take my tardy slip.

Ha. I knew he liked her. He just confirmed it.

I go get changed in the locker room and run out onto the track next to Kora and Kade.

"You okay?" I ask Kora.

She nods, looks at Del, and blushes again. I just smirk. Kade looks less than impressed, but doesn't acknowledge me. Per his usual. I do a few laps at a sprint so I can catch up to the class and then line up with everyone else when we finish.

"This class is mixed so you can learn to not only defend against, but attack, members of another race in a fight. You'll be split into teams of four. Two against two, same race."

Kora and Kade immediately team up. I look around for another demon, hoping to be paired against my new witch friends for the first day. As I stand here looking around, I wonder what happened to the previous combat instructor. Del arrived at the same time I did. I shrug in response to my own thoughts. When Bane steps up beside me, I'm a bit surprised. He's actively ignored me all day.

"Demon's against Vampires. Witches against Fae, and so on." Balls. Oh well.

I turn towards a fighting ring and immediately regret my decision. Of course the Vampires would be Erasmus and whoever the female is standing next to him. Too late to turn back now.

"Well, if it isn't little Lucinda." He says as I approach. His female companion chuckles. Bane steps into the ring, not bothering to say anything.

"I see you chose an incubus for a partner.
