4. Esperanto was developed as an international language by L. L. Zamenhof in 1887.

5. In the biblical story, men begin to build “a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven” until God intercedes to “confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech,” and to “scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth” (Genesis 11:1-9).
