How to Clean a Spa Filter

The filter should be chemically cleaned every two months or so to remove oil, dirt and scale residue. Add powdered filter cleaner and water to a cleaning canister and mix thoroughly according to directions on the container.

Insert the dirty filter into the canister, attach the canister cover and let the filter soak overnight.

Remove the filter and rinse clean with a hose and filter nozzle attachment (See page 121). Pleated filters should last for several years. But once the filter material begins to visibly degrade, replace the cartridge and filter.
