Chapter Twelve
I felt like two people with two different personalities. With Sean, I was quiet and reserved and not at all enthused about sex. With Regan, I couldn’t get enough of it. Her slow, drugging kisses, the way her soft curves molded into mine, and the scent of her skin evoked responses in me I never knew were possible. Sex with her seemed so natural, so real. There was no thinking about it, no working at getting aroused. It just happened and it happened a lot.
Regan had spent the night at my apartment for the third time that week. The only time she went home was to pick up a clean uniform for the next day and to give her mother some lame excuse about working back-to-back shifts and how much easier it was just to stay at my place because it was so close to work. I didn’t care what she told her mother, I was just happy and content to have her by my side every night. Unfortunately, that streak of luck would have to come to an end. It was Friday morning, and I would be leaving to join Sean for the weekend.
The alarm went off at five o’clock. I climbed out of bed and headed for the kitchen to put on some coffee, then get in the shower before I had to wake Regan at five thirty. As the steaming hot water hit me, expectations of the next few days ran through my head. How am I going to pull this off without hurting anyone? Is Sean going to know there is something different about me? What about Regan? Will things be the same when I come back? I toweled off, unable to shake off the feeling of dread these thoughts produced. I slipped on my bathrobe to go in and wake Regan.
I tiptoed back into the bedroom. Regan was still sound asleep. It was strangely exciting to see her lying there in my bed, a bed I had only ever shared with my husband. Regan stirred as I sat next to her.
“Regan, it’s five thirty. Time to get up,” I said, smoothing out her tousled hair.
“Morning,” she said and smiled lazily.
“Good morning. How’d you sleep?”
“Like a rock,” Regan said, stretching out her long limbs.
“Good. Me too. I guess having three orgasms before bedtime really helps.”
Regan laughed and sat up in bed. The crisp white sheet that covered her naked body had fallen to her waist, exposing her beautiful breasts. A tidal wave of passion flowed through me. My groin tingled. It was amazing what the mere sight of her did to me.
I bent down and kissed her. Neither one of us had brushed our teeth yet, but that didn’t seem to matter. Regan kissed me back in a way that left no doubt that she felt the same way. We made love for the fourth time in eight hours, then we headed off to shower quickly and dress for work. I poured coffee into a thermos and tossed a couple of Twinkies into my backpack for later.
