Chapter Eleven w

Two weeks later…

My eyes pop open. I have a smile on my face. YAY. Today is the day we ride! It has taken two weeks but Kevin promised me we would go today. I'm not letting them back out. Jake and Zack have been in training and Juan has been monitoring alone for the last three days. Today I ride!

I turn to see Jamie smiling at me. "What has put the smile on your face Angel? Did you win the lottery in your sleep?"

"Hell no!" I'm horrified by that idea.

He cracks up, "most people would find that idea appealing." He is still laughing.

"Today we go for a ride. I was just thinking of how long it has been and how good it will feel to ride a trail again." He smiles at me. I don't know what it is but he's been hiding something from me. It makes me a little nervous. I hope they aren't leaving.

"If I had known you'd be smiling like that I would have taken you sooner." WHAT!

I crawl down the bed and go into the bathroom closing the door. I know they'll wait for me to come out. I lose my clothes and get in the shower. I do my best to wash myself. I wrap a towel around my head and dry myself off. I towel dry my hair and grab the brush to try and get out all the tangles I put in it. There's a knock then Jamie opens the door. "Angel, I would have given you a shower." He's surprised and confused. Well he can join the club because I am too.

"I know you would have." I continue brushing my hair. Determined to do something myself.

"What's wrong Angel?" He turns my chin so I'll look at him.

I feel tears pooling in my eyes, "I don't know. I've spent so long waiting to ride again and I've waited patiently but now I feel like you’re only going to appease me. It won't be as enjoyable and I really want to enjoy it."

He hugs me to him, "Oh Angel, I'm sorry. We have a surprise planned and have been waiting to make it perfect. We should have told you or taken you a different route. I didn't even think about how long you've waited. You never complain or say anything. I hate to keep saying I'm sorry, but I am." He kisses my forehead. "I'm still learning here."

"I'm sorry too, I should have told you I was growing impatient."

He kisses my head, "You are so sweet. I love you Angel, but when I screw up you need to let me own it. So I don't do it again." He smiles at me.

I nod at him, "I don't know what's got into me, I felt so sad and frustrated. I didn't know what to do about it." I look down it's kind of embarrassing.

"It's ok. If I had waited so long to do something I loved and someone made me wait longer then cracked jokes about it, I would be pissed.
