Type A (Make 18)

Rnd 1: With A, ch 3, join with a sl st in 3rd ch from hook to form a ring, (Beg dc [see Glossary], 11 dc) in ring, join with a sl st in top of Beg dc—12 dc.

Rnd 2: Beg dc in next st (referring to st to the left of joining st), *ch 1, dc in next st; rep from * 10 times, ch 1, join with a sl st in top of Beg dc—12 dc; 12 ch-sps.

Rnd 3: Sl st in first ch-sp, (Beg dc, dc) in first ch-sp, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next ch-sp; rep from * around, dc in next st, join with a sl st in top of Beg dc—36 dc.

Rnd 4: *Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around, join with a sl st in first sc—48 sc.

Rnd 5: (Beg dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, *[ch 1, sk next st, dc in next st] 3 times, ch 1, sk next st**, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st; rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join with a sl st in top of Beg dc—30 dc; 30 ch-sp.
