Chapter 12

I slipped my arm around Hazel’s shoulders as I let out a satisfied sigh. The evidence of our recent events were scattered all throughout the room, and a coy smile curled across my lips as I leaned back against the floor-to-ceiling window.

Hazel and I had thoroughly christened the new office, and we accidentally broke a blue vase in the process, but that was the last thing on my mind when I was balls deep inside my new lover. Our jaunt around the office lasted for a little over two hours, and Hazel’s legs were like Jell-O at the end of it, so I literally had to carry her back to the desk to stop her from collapsing on the ground.

And that was how we ended up in front of the window, with only a white shirt between us and the bustling streets of Manhattan below. Hazel didn’t want her ass to be on show to the public, which I understood, but I didn’t give a fuck if anyone saw us. Innocent passersby had probably seen more than just my ass anyway, so I saw no reason to stay away from the windows.

“That really just happened,” Hazel mumbled as she rested her head on my shoulder.

“That really just happened,” I snickered. “All because I offered you a promotion, too. Fuck, I should have done that months ago.”

“Jesse!” Hazel gasped as she playfully smacked my arm. “Please don’t think I only did this because of the promotion. I had been thinking about this for… a long time.”

“I dunno…” I shrugged with a smirk. “It felt very sudden…”

“You’re…” Hazel sighed.

“Yes?” I laughed. “What were you going to say?”

“You’re unbelievable,” she mumbled under her breath.

“There we go!” I cheered. “I knew I’d hear you say it at least once today. But just so you know, now that you’re stuck with me, you can’t say no when I offer to pay for your coffees, meals, cars…”

“Cars?” Hazel looked at me with the widest eyes I’d ever seen. “What do you mean by ‘pay for your cars?’”

“Well, you know the vehicles that tend to come with four wheels and get you from A to B?” I teased. “All of my omegas have their own cars, or vehicles in general, even if they can’t drive, so it’s only right that I get you one, too.”

“But I’m not your omega.” Hazel frowned. “I also have a car, which I love, so I see no reason to have another one.”

“Just because you’re not a shifter, doesn’t mean I don’t see you as my seventh omega,” I replied and stroked her cheek. “If you don’t want a new car that’s fine, you don’t have to get one. I just want you to know that I love nothing more than treating my omegas to nice things. I don’t even know what to do with the money I have right now, so it’s only right that I spend it on those I love.”

“I just…” Hazel paused for a moment. “I don’t want you to think that I only did this because of the promotion, or because of your wealth.
