Matteo stood at the landing, with his arms folded, a stern, puzzled expression plastered all over his face.

“Ready for the meeting?” I asked him, shrugging my shoulders.

“You just can’t keep it in your pants, can you?” Matteo snapped crudely.

“What do you mean?” I said blankly.

Even though I knew damn well what he meant.

“Fucking the girl we kidnapped? Seriously?” he gritted. “That’s low, bro. Even for you.”

“It’s not like that,” I gritted back.

“Oh, is it not?” he sneered. “So she behaves like a bitch with Stockholm Syndrome, and you give in to the bait?”

“No,” I snarled. “Shut the fuck up, Matteo. Don’t speak on what you don’t know.”

Matteo rolled his eyes bitterly.

“Well, fucking enlighten me then!” he demanded, clenching his teeth.
