“W hat’s your name?” he asked, bringing a finger up to trace my jawline.

“It’s Mrs None Of Your Business,” I retorted, rolling my eyes.

He laughed.

Damn that Greek God fucking laugh.

“You know, if you’re gonna lie, dollface… you’ve gotta make it more believable.”

He trailed off his sentence, inching closer to me.

“We both know that you’re not married. Or else there would be a wedding ring on your finger.”

I could feel my breath catch in my throat again, wishing that he would stop coming up so close to me.

Wishing that my body would have the willpower not to cave in to my desires.

Because as arrogant as this bastard was…

He was right.

I did want him.

But I didn’t want him to see me as another one of his whores…

And I knew that if I went home with him tonight, I would regret it tomorrow morning.

When I would be yesterday’s news, and he’d move on to the next broad.

Forget all about me…

As if I never existed.

So the better person in me knew not to pursue this.

I did my best to regather my confidence, getting my head back in the game, not wanting him to believe he’d won.

“Who says I’m not married?” I retorted. “The boss makes us take off our rings before we come into work… Says it’s better for business.”

I was lying through the skin of my teeth.

“Says the tips are much more if they believe the sexy women to be single. And have nothing to be turned off by.”

Adrian cocked his head to the side. “Is that so?”

“Yep,” I said matter-of-factly, with my hands on my hips.

He let out another chuckle, before he reached for something in my neck.

“Is that why your work badge says Miss Jasmine Cassidy?” he said sarcastically, and a gasp leaped out of my throat, as I realized how much of an idiot I looked.
