The taste of his breath in my lungs rushed through me. Mark placed his hand on my knee and his lips touched mine. A slight yelp escaped my throat. I felt him smile against my mouth and I parted my lips, inviting his tongue inside me. The warmth of Mark’s kiss was gentle, so unlike anything I imagined it to be. The calculated swirls of his tongue along mine made my chest rise, and Mark’s other hand came to rest on my ribcage, just under my left breast.

I kept my mask firmly pressed with my right hand, using the other to hold Mark behind his neck, playing with the bristles of his hairline. “Where would you get that idea?” I asked.

“When I told you I’m a teacher.”

“Yes, because you’re the only teacher in the world!” My tone rose.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t think you’d make out with just any teacher.”

My mouth dropped open.

“Shit, I didn’t mean it that way.” His hands flew to his forehead.

I jumped off the couch, weaving between the guests toward the staircase. This time, if Mark followed me, I’d give him a piece of my mind. But in truth, I wanted to give him more than that. As soon as his hand had left my moistened panties, I regretted pulling away.
