Chapter Sixteen

Chance

We reach the door to my room and I honestly don’t know how I’ve kept my hands off Sierra all the way up here. Well, it hasn’t been all of the way up here. We kissed in the elevator— a passionate, desperate kiss of two people who know this will be the last time they can be together— and want to savor every second of the time they have left.

I can’t wait to get her into my room and devour her. I fumble in my pocket for my key card. I can’t find it.

Sierra really isn’t helping matters. She has wrapped her arms around my waist from behind. She leans closer to me, kissing my neck, sending shivers of pleasure through me, and her hands have already made their way beneath my shirt. They’re moving lower.

“Sierra, stop!” I laugh.

“Are you sure?” she teases me.

My hand finally closes on the key card to pull it out and slip it into the slot. “Nope, keep going.” I step into the room, flick on the light, and turn to Sierra. I wrap my arms around her waist, lifting her up.

She wraps her legs around me, her arms around my neck and our lips meet again. I kick the door closed behind me as I walk her further into the room. Her dress is around her hips where she pushed it up to wrap her legs around me and I run one hand down her bare thigh.

I move towards the wall and press Sierra against it, kissing her like I’ve been unleashed. My tongue is wrapped around hers, my hands are all over her, on her thighs, on her waist, in her hair. Her hands roam beneath my shirt, running all over my skin.

I move my mouth from hers to kiss down her neck and over one bare shoulder.

She shivers in my arms and moans as I run my tongue along her collarbone. “Chance,” she whispers.

Her voice somehow pulls me out of the spell that has been cast over us, and I come back to my senses. I kiss her hard on the mouth again, and then I set her down on the ground. “This is a terrible idea.”

“I know,” she agrees, taking hold of my shirt and pulling me back towards her.

We kiss again, a frantic, passionate kiss that sets my soul on fire.

“We shouldn’t,” I mumble into her mouth.

“I know,” she says again as she’s unbuttoning my shirt. She gets it open and pushes it down my arms.

I step back again, trying and failing to resist her touch. “Sierra, listen. We both know this is it. This is all we can ever be. We can’t be together. It would be unprofessional.”

“I agree.” She pushes me backwards until my legs hit the bed and I fall into a sitting position. She presses on my shoulders, forcing me backwards until I’m half laying down, then she straddles me and runs her tongue over my bare chest.

Her licking sends shivers through my whole body
