“HI. THIS is Dennis. Just do it.”

Raven clicked off the damned voice mail. For the third time. Where is he? He stuffed the phone back in his pocket and hurried across the parking lot to the casino. Their deadline for completing the first cut of the casino video was two days away. Dennis wouldn’t flake on him, would he? He must be working on it—somewhere.

He waved at the doorman. “Hey, Roy, have you seen that blond guy who’s been taking video around the casino?”

“The really white one?” He laughed.

Raven laughed with him. So true. “Yeah.”

“Not today. But I only came on an hour ago.”

“Thanks.”

“If I see him, I’ll tell him you’re looking for him.”

“Good.” He pushed inside and crossed to the back doors to the pool and gardens. The weather had cooled down, so no sun worshippers—and also no Dennis. Ants of worry crept up his neck.

Dennis had seemed a little freaked about how late it was when he left Raven’s apartment two nights before, but otherwise he’d radiated happy and satisfied. Hell, why not? That had been one epic orgasm.

“Raven.”

He turned to see his father crossing toward him with a gray-haired Native man and a younger guy who looked to be his son. The young guy was on the small side, slender, with long hair tied loosely at his neck, and a face that could have been carved in stone next to Crazy Horse. Lots of pure blood coursed through those attractive veins.

“Yes, sir.”

“I wanted to introduce you to Herman Hunt and his son, Anton. They manage a casino in northern New York and came to see how we run this one.”

“Pleased to meet you, sir.” He shook hands with the older Hunt, then grinned at Anton. “Can’t fool me. You’re just escaping winter.”

Anton smiled, and it softened the strong lines of his face a lot. “You got that right.”

Mr. Hunt laughed. “We’ve been found out. But that doesn’t mean we’re not interested in your programs and procedures.”

Raven’s father said, “I thought you could show Anton around. That’s why I called you.”

“Uh, I was actually looking for Dennis.”

His father looked confused.

“The guy who’s making the video for the casino.”

“Yes, of course. How’s it coming? We’re supposed to see something soon, aren’t we?”

“Yes. That’s why I was looking. It’s been going great, but the last two days I can’t find him.”

“I hope he hasn’t absconded with our money.” He smiled, but there was a small crease between his eyebrows.

“He’s actually been giving us way more value than the few cents we paid him warrants. The rough cut was three-quarters finished when I saw it last. Really good. I imagine he’s just engrossed in classes or something.”

His father turned to Hunt. “We’re doing a promotional piece on the casino. More about the good it does than anything else.”

Hunt frowned. “Yes, we’re always having to prove our worth. Not a burden most American businesses bear.”

Anton cut his eyes to the side and grinned. Raven nodded. “Excuse me. Why don’t I take Anton
