Chapter Eleven
My heart slams into my ribcage with a painful thud. I collapse face-first onto the mattress with my ass still in the air. All trace of arousal vanishes, leaving me gasping around two thick cocks stretching my pussy beyond its limit and a huge shaft lodged in my rectum.
âLir,â I grind out. âStop.â
His cocks turn to water, and every hole gushes with warm liquid. The hands around my shoulders and hips turn me so Iâm lying face-up on the mattress.
âMiranda,â Lir says, his voice urgent. âAre you hurt?â
âNo.â I shake my head.
âThen whyââ
âPolice,â says another male voice. âOpen this door immediately.â
Lir bares his teeth. âWho is this bastard?â
âDoesnât Atlantis have law enforcement?â
His features pinch. âOur society has evolved to the point where such things are unnecessary.â
âWell, if they get through the door, Iâm in deep shit.â
âThey wonât,â he says.
I grab his arm. âDonât kill them. Things will only get worse if one of the policemen drops dead.â
âFine,â he growls and waves an arm toward the bedroom door. âI will seal the entrances.â
Relief loosens the muscles around my chest, which only tighten with another round of frantic knocking. Shit, fuck, and bollocks! This is all Robertâs fault.
I rise off the mattress, my gaze darting around the room. Thereâs no way I can have sex in such a commotion. Iâm in the worst trouble of my life.
Lir tilts his head to the side, staring down at me with a deep frown. âYou are worried.â
âOf course, I am,â I hiss. âThis house is the lair of a serial killer. What did you do with the dead bodies?â
He doesnât even flinch at my jab. âIn the sewer. Why?â
âDid you hide the menâs vehicles?â
He shakes his head.
âFuck!â
âMiranda Prosper,â a male voice barks.
Lir massages my shoulders. âDonât worry about them.â
Panic punches through my ribcage and seizes my heart, while hysteria grabs me by the throat. I scramble off the bed and pace the room.
âWhat if theyâve already found the bodies? What if they think Iâm the serial killer? Nobody will believe me when I say I didnât drown those men. I canât go to prison.â
Lir steps in front of me and blocks my path. âYou are tense.â
âOf course, I am.â
âI donât understand.â He cups my cheeks with his large hands. âThe police will eventually get tired of knocking and then theyâll leave.â
âAnd return with a warrant to kick down the door,â I say.
âBut you will be gone.â
My throat tightens, and I squeeze my eyes shut.
âYouâre talking about Atlantis?â
âYes.â
Dread pulls my heart to my stomach. Before I can contemplate why, another set of knocking makes my head snap toward the door. Itâs muffled, as are the shouts of the policemen. I donât need to ask to know that Lir is using his water to block the sound. Moments later, the air shifts the way it does on a flight, and weâre encased in silence.
âWonât they notice weâre in some kind of water bubble?â I ask.
âItâs too thin to be detectable,â Lir replies, his voice a soothing balm.
