The rising sun's reflection turned the feathered clouds purple and could barely be seen through the small window. He had a long night, and he was pleased he got the right angles for the photos of Ellen. He printed out pictures of her singing her solo. She sang like an angel. How different her eyes looked when she couldn't sing or breathe any more. He asked her to sing privately for him, but she refused. How very sad. But she made many magical sounds once the cord tightened around her throat. Yes, she tried to sing then, but it was too late.

He taped her pictures on the wall and looked again at the old photo. “If only you could have been there to watch Ellen struggle. You could have witnessed how it's going to look and feel when I hang you.”

He rubbed his arm and felt less pain on the wound now that it was beginning to heal. He had a hard time convincing the Charleston doctor to give him antibiotics without examining his arm. But in the end, he agreed. Yes, they all agree in the end.
